Frontlines Multiplayer DEMO confirmed on Xbox LIVE!
Posted by: RogueDOC  @  21-12-07 21:46:07 [Source]

THQ UK has confirmed that there will be a Multilayer DEMO for the Xbox 360 some time in the New Year.

So we’re happy to report that a Multiplayer demo is indeed on its way to Xbox LIVE in the New Year, with a number of substantial improvements to graphics, performance and controls. Kaos have been listening very closely to feedback since the release of the single-player demo, and the results should be immediately apparent. Specifically, a slicker, consistent frame rate combined with additional graphical oomph as the code is polished for a February release date, together with a substantial improvement to the control scheme and stick sensitivity.

Computer and Video Games BETA Q&A and BETA Key Givaway
Posted by: RogueDOC  @  19-12-07 15:02:55 [Source]

Computer and Video Games has an interview with Joe Halper - Frontlines' Senior Producer. He talks about the BETA test, tips and tactics for the BETA and about How valuable are BETA testers to you as a developer.

How do you think this beta test will ultimately help to shape the eventual game?

Joe Halper: With this beta there are many things that will ultimately help us for the final release. Installer performance, hardware compatibility, server performance, the structure of the user interface, gameplay balance on all features such as weapons, role upgrades, vehicles, destruction, levels, etc. We want the players participating in the open beta to not only have a great time playing with all of these features but their experience and opinions will help us shape this up to where it needs to be upon final release.

Also stop buy CVG tonight at 8pm GMT to get a BETA key.

FRONTLINES: Fuel of War DEMO DEVELOPER COMMENTARY
Posted by: RogueDOC  @  18-12-07 20:28:11 [Source]

THQ UK has put up a commentary by Kaos Studios general manager Frank DeLise. In it he talks about what you can expect in the demo on the Xbox 360.

You start the mission with a squad of soldiers and an assault rifle. However, throughout the mission you’ll find an assortment of weapons hidden around the level including: sniper rifle, rocket launcher, laser target marker to call in a cluster bomb air strike, radio controlled C4 drone car, and a really cool radio controlled helicopter drone that fires mini-rockets. These drones are just a small taste of the 60+ weapons and vehicles in Frontlines.

Outpostgamez Q & A with Brian Holinka
Posted by: RogueDOC  @  18-12-07 00:32:46 [Source]

The gang at Outpostgamez had a talk with Brian Holinka, Lead Technical Designer for Frontlines:Fuel of War. He talks about consulting with the US military, about how friendly the modding will be, leaderboards and a lot of other good stuff.

OPG: What type of environments will a gamer experience, examples such as sand storms, rain, wind?

FFOW: The variety in the landscapes that our level designers, lead by Richard “Iggy” Cowgill of Desert Combat fame, and environment artists have built is tremendous. While we don’t have any in-game weather systems per se, they’ve been very creative in using environmental effects to build really immersive ambience. Coupled with some really powerful and impressive sound (I’ll be blatantly honest, I feel our sound superior to many of our competitors that I’ve played recently), it makes you forget your staring at a screen and draws you in. I’m really proud of what those guys have done and I’m just glad to have been associated with them on this project.
