Some players have reported to us that the free AntiVirus solution named AntiVir is detecting our patch files as malware. We've contacted Avira about this issue and will post when we have more information. Please be aware that our patches are not malware and are checked for accuracy before they are posted. If you use AntiVir and want to patch your installation of Frontlines, temporarily disable your AntiVirus software during the download and installation of the patch. Remember to re-enable your AntiVirus software once the patch is complete! If you want to verify that the patch files that you are using are legitimate, please use an MD5 checker tool to verify the file against the MD5 sum that is listed on our patch site for the particular file that you are downloading. No other AntiVirus software (AVG, McAfee, Symantec/Norton, etc.) is detecting our patches incorrectly. UPDATE: We have received a response to our inquiry to Avira in regards to AntiVir detecting our patches are viruses. They have confirmed that our patches do not contain any viruses or malware and have noted this as a false positive and apologize to the users that have reported this issue. They will be adjusting the pattern recognition in one of their upcoming updates. |
