 Mitch has posted an update reguarding the upcoming downloadable content (DLC).

 

A lot of people have questions about our upcoming downloadable content (DLC) releases for Xbox 360 and PC so I've put together this mini-FAQ and will update it as I have more information. Stay tuned.

1. Will there be a charge for all or part of the DLC? (both platforms) Updated!

DLC will be free for PC but will be released soon after the Xbox 360 version.

DLC on the Xbox will be released as follows:
  • DLC 1 will be free and will include one map.
  • DLC 2 will be free and will include Conquer mode.
  • DLC 3 will be a map pack and will include the other four maps with competitive pricing.
2. Will all the DLC on the PC be via patches or will there be an expansion/booster pack?

Patches.

3. Is there a release schedule for all or part of the DLC?

TBA.

4. Is there a release date for PC patch 1.2.0?

TBA.

5. Will there be additional patches beyond 1.2.0/Title Update 2? Updated!

On the Xbox 360, Title Update 3 is already in development and is planned to release around the same time as Conquer mode (DLC 2) and we will release more details on this update in the next week or two.

Patch 1.2.0 for PC is already in development and one of the DLC maps will be included, as well as other features. We will also release more information on this patch in the next week or two.

We are also preparing a "road map" that will outline plans for future patches and title updates.

6. Will weapons/vehicles be map specific or can they be enabled in other maps?

Currently, map specific.

7. Will there be public betas of patches/DLC?

No, we have a private group of beta testers we use to test patches and DLC.

8. Will SP get any additional content?

No.

Note: Some of these items are marked "TBA" as a final decision has not been made and I don't want to put something down unless it is completely accurate. Once I have more information I will update. __________________

Why do PC users get free maps? Man, screw Kaos. Make us wait until JUNE for the APRIL patch...and then charge us for a map pack?!? Two of the maps were half-assed rehashed campaign missions anyway. KAOS, wht is wrong with you? BFBC is out soon...and it rocks! You need to do something quick to win back what little fan base you have left. I've watched the number of players plummet faster than the U.S. Dollar exchange rate. Count me as just one more pissed of FFOW player. Thanks for picking my pocket, KAOS. You guys used to do this stuff for free...now you're charging for MAPS?!?! Two words. SELL OUTS!

You're preaching to the choir, man. I've been with these guys since DC. I was thinking, "FINALLY! A company that cares about the gaming experience. People who will release a quality product and support it!" I was wrong on both accounts. The game was released looking like a Beta, and apparently support is another way of saying, "we're going to charge you far out the ass for a product we've already paid for." If anything, DLC should be free to apologize for a ghastly launch,and because they're KAOS, and supposed to be cool.
